Unique concept.

The low temperature radiator ULOW-E2 combined with E2 technology is a unique concept that gives high heat outputs even with low water temperatures without compromising style. The ULOW-E2 low temperature radiator can easily be used at a supply temperature of even lower than 40°C with modern and conventional energy sources, such as oil or gas but also with renewable energy sources such as heat pump or a solar spring.

The key feature of the ULOW-E2 is the fans, which assist the natural convection. The intelligent control panel will automatically switch between static and dynamic operation depending upon the room condition. The radiator is at its highest efficiency during static operation, therefore the fans will only be active when necessary.

Fans for optimized convection  The ULOW-E2 provides radiant heat via the water filled front panel, however enhanced convection will also come from the fans. Due to the intelligent control between static and dynamic operation heat-up times will be rapid. Maximum thermal comfort can be achieved even with water supply temperatures as low as 40°C.

Flexible pre-piped construction methods are here to stay, therefore the ULOW-E2 central connection will make a significant contribution to reduce the installation costs. This will give more freedom for design and planning.

Installation and service

The ULOW-E2 is supplied as a ready-to-fit product and is as easy, flexible and economical to install as a standard radiator.

All installation devices are freely accessible. This method of installation saves money and time at every service and cleaning. The cleaning at an ULOW-E2 is the same than at every other radiator. The fans are removable to the right and to the left.

When working as a heater, what conditions will the fans run?

Regardless of whether it is “Comfort” or “Boost mode”, the supply flow temperature must be at least 3°C higher than the measured room temperature, and at the same time the measured room temperature has to be lower than the pre-set target room temperature. If either of these conditions are not met then the fans will not activate / switch off.

When working as a cooler, what conditions will the fans run?

The supply flow temperature must be 3°C lower than the measured room air temperature, and at the same time the measured room temperature has to be higher than the pre-set target room temperature. If either of these conditions are not met the fans will not activate / switch off.

Important parameter settings

The default factory settings such as duration of boost operation, offset of the measured room air temperature and/or offset between output flow and room temperature can be changed to suit individual user requirements.

Technical Information

The ULOW-E2 LOW TEMPERATUR RADIATOR is - with its welded in set of T-shaped valves - suitable for double-pipe installations as well as single-pipeinstallations, using a single-pipe manifold. Additionally to the central connection from the bottom, the sophisticated design makes possible other connections used at compact radiators, such as the single-sided and two-sided connection.

Radiators are delivered ready for double-pipe installation and with a factory-adjusted kv-setting, appropriate to the radiator output.

For district heating installations with a big difference between water supply and return temperature, a valve unit that allows a precise and stepless adjustment is available on request.

Of course it is also possible to change the pre-adjusted valve setting when the equipment is operating at pressure.

Double-pipe operation - Adjustment tips for built-in valves

E2-Technology

Setting instructions:
VOGEL&NOOT valve radiators are factory-fitted for double-pipe installations. Each individual radiator is fitted with a pre-adjusted valve insert, appropriate to the radiator output. The preset kv-value is also marked in colour on the front surface.

Please note:
Should customised adjustments be required, the pre-set kv-values can be altered as needed. Swapping the right-hand side built-in valve to the left-hand side is no problem at all at any time. Radiator are delivered with protective caps. After removing the protective cap (pos. A) the following thermostat heads can be fitted directly to the builtin valve (pos. B): “RA 2000”, “RAW” by Danfoss, “VK” by Heimeier, “D” by Herz, “thera DA” by MNG and “UNI XD” by Oventrop.

The radiator will be delivered with a protective cap. After removing the protective cap (item A) the following thermostat heads can be installed directly onto the built-in valve (item B): „RA 2000“ and „RAW“ by Danfoss, „VK“ by Heimeier, „theraDA“ by MNG, as well as „UNI XD“ by Oventrop.  

Caution: During the installation take care that the return element (2)  has been installed at the water return, and the supply element (1) at the water supply. Changing the built-in valve from the right- to the left-hand side can easily be done at any time.
